Are You Going to Maximize the Next 5 Months, or Let Them Slip By?

Q3 and Q4 are the biggest earning months of the year, and here is the truth: your results are not just based on the algorithm. They are solely related to how you show up and treat your business.

The creators who win the holiday season are locking in their strategy, their systems, and their brand relationships right now. This week is your wake-up call. Let's get to work.

Brand Opportunities

For every brand this week, we included exactly what we would pitch if it were us. Steal the angle, make it yours, and apply with a real concept instead of a blank form.

L.L.Bean
If I was pitching this brand:L.L.Bean is coastal New England to its core, so pitch the boat day: tote bags, boat-and-tote hauls, striped coastal wear, and a "what I packed for a weekend in Maine" itinerary. A lighthouse, a lobster roll, and their gear in every frame is exactly the life this brand sells.
Monarch Money
If I was pitching this brand:"What summer actually cost us." Pull up the real numbers on camera, react honestly, then set up your Q4 holiday budget inside Monarch so it never happens again. Money transparency content converts, and it sets up a natural series through the holidays.
Tushy
If I was pitching this brand:Lean into the humor: "things in my house guests judge until they try them." Tushy's whole brand voice is playful, so a deadpan house tour that ends at the bidet, plus a real 30-day review, matches how they already market.
SlumberPod
If I was pitching this brand:"How my toddler actually naps on vacation." Film the hotel room setup in real time on your end-of-summer trip, show the before-and-after of sharing a room with a sleeping baby, and end with the whole family enjoying the evening. Problem, product, payoff.
Vivi — Coffee With Benefits
If I was pitching this brand:A "5 months to the holidays" reset routine. Swap the 2pm crash coffee for Vivi on camera and track the difference for a week: energy, skin, focus. Functional coffee sells on the felt result, so a follow-along format is the play here.
Sleepyhead
If I was pitching this brand:Dorm move-in day is here, so pitch "the one dorm item worth the splurge." Film the topper unboxing and expansion on that sad dorm mattress, then the first-night verdict. College parents are the buyers, and they are watching this content right now.
Benebone
If I was pitching this brand:"Back to school is an adjustment for the dog too." When the kids leave and the house goes quiet, show how the Benebone keeps your pup busy and out of trouble. Pets-reacting-to-the-new-routine content is peak shareable in August.
Dr. Praeger's
If I was pitching this brand:"Dinner in 12 minutes on the first week of school." Show the freezer-to-table reality of a weeknight when everyone has practice, homework, and zero patience. Bonus angle: Littles in the lunchbox as the veggie win that kids actually eat.
Snoozer Pet Products
If I was pitching this brand:A fall road trip with the dog riding shotgun in the Lookout car seat. POV from the pup's view out the window, safety talking points woven in, and a cozy destination reveal. Their audience is dog people who travel, so give them the whole trip.
Gutzy Organic
If I was pitching this brand:"The snack drawer restock, but make it for mom too." While you build the kids' after-school drawer, add your own shelf with Gutzy pouches for the school-run, gym-bag, desk-drawer moments. Adults deserve the pouch, and that hook writes itself.

Purchased Engagement Is Fraud

Yes, fraud. Like, it's a big deal.

Brands have clauses in their contracts covering this: if you are doing engagement pods, paying for engagement, or running giveaways to inflate followers, you are committing fraud. Not only can they cancel the campaign, they can sue and file with the FTC. This is not a slap on the wrist. It is your business on the line.

🚩Creator Red Flags🚩
  • Comment sections full of other creators or dull comments. 120 comments that say "love this" offer zero to a brand. It is just as good as having 0 comments.
  • No comment responses or real conversation. Brands look for back-and-forth, not a wall of one-liners nobody replied to.
  • Low-use followings and spam likes. Inactive accounts and bot-pattern likes are visible to anyone running an audience report, and brands run them.

If Instagram feels stale, stop repeating the same routine and expecting a different result. Ask yourself honestly: is there a strategy, a marketing plan, and a lead generator behind your socials, or are you just posting, inflating stats, and hoping it gets you by? One of those is a business. The other is a hobby. The next 5 months will answer that question either way, so make sure you're the one deciding the answer.

3 Engagement Tips to Do Daily

01

Follow & Engage With 5 New Brands

Don't just slide into their DMs with a generic "let's collaborate." Warm the lead first: follow them, watch and react to a story, leave a real comment. Save one of their posts to a folder, come back weekly to engage, and after a bit, slide in with a personal pitch. If your book of business is brands, then brands are who you should be networking with. Other creators won't bring you sales. Go focus on where the money is!

02

Respond to Stories You Watch

Go through the stories of accounts you follow (and if you are here to grow a business, get a personal account for the celebrities) and actually respond. Every DM you send strengthens your algorithm connection, and if they respond, even better: the more you DM each other, the more likely your content shows up at the top of their feed the moment you post.

03

Reply to Comments So They Reply Back

Respond to your comments in a way that gets a response back. Ask a question, start a conversation. When someone replies to your reply, that tells Meta this post sparks conversation and is genuinely engaging, and it will give it a boost in the algorithm.

Content Tips

Tips, trends, and formats worth studying this week. Click through each one, take notes on the hook and the format, then make it yours.

You're Losing Money Without ManyChat

If you are not optimizing and automating, you are leaving money on the table every single post. Remember: links can't be clicked in a caption, and not everyone is going to visit your stories or your link in bio. Just like any marketing funnel, you want to capture them right then and there.

This is exactly why stories bring the highest conversions of anything you post on Instagram: someone clicks the link and purchases in the same moment. It is also why LTK loses so many conversions, because it drags people through landing page after landing page before they can buy.

The fix: set up ManyChat in your captions so you are always selling. Comment a keyword, link lands in their DMs, sale happens while you are living your life. ManyChat offers business-building tools and automations that let you use your own voice while a virtual assistant makes sure you never lose a lead or a sale.

Do This Before Q4

Spend time getting comfortable in ManyChat now, before the holidays, so this can be your biggest year yet. Bonus: your automation setup and DM conversion numbers are a great stat to send to brands. It shows them you run a funnel, not just a feed.

Set Up ManyChat

A Brand Just Emailed You. What Do You Do?

Be honest. Which one are you?

A

Send rates immediately.

B

Forget to respond until 2am a few days later.

C

Send a detailed response with a concept idea and build the collaboration with the brand.

If it's anything other than C, that is why you're getting low offers.

When a brand reaches out, this is the start of what could be a long-term relationship. You want to show them the partner and the professional you are. Don't send a generic response with quick pasted rates and a media kit. Get to know the campaign, send over a concept, and let them know you are more than a one-and-done. But you also don't want to waste your time on endless back and forth just for them to offer gifted with an affiliate link. Here's the play:

1. Use their name

Open your response with the name of the person who emailed you. It sounds small. It isn't. It signals a human wrote this, for them.

2. Lead with a concept that fits your audience

Show them you read the campaign and already know what you would make. This is what separates a partner from a vendor, and it is what they are actually paying for.

3. Give STARTING rates, not final rates

Let them know you start at $1,800 for a reel, and that you would be happy to go over deliverables like usage, sharing to stories, and crossposting, as well as their budget per creator, to see what you can come up with together. Go in high, with room buried in the rate: if they come back with "we only have $1,800 for a reel crossposted to TikTok," you already had that buried in your number and can move forward. And by asking their budget, you can see where they are and add on deliverables to get there.

The Rate Line, Word for Word

"My starting rate for a reel is $1,800, and I'd be happy to go over deliverables such as usage, sharing to stories, and crossposting, as well as your budget per creator, to see what we can come up with together!"

There is an art to negotiating. Remember: the brands emailing you are corporate-level professionals. Meet them in the boardroom.

Using AI for Content Ideas Without the Red Flags

When you send content ideas to brands, ChatGPT can be helpful, but it can also be a huge red flag. If a brand can tell AI did it all for you, they feel it's not really your idea, and it lowers your rate, because they are no longer paying for creative concept and scripting.

The answer isn't to skip AI. It's to train it. Feed your chat previous content you have created and tell it to mimic your work. Then set the rules: anytime you want content ideas, you want them in paragraph format, no em dashes, none of the trigger words like "real" and "authentic," just a concept explained like a human would explain it. Drop in the brand's brief or website and get a customized idea in your voice, based on what you would actually create.

If you use a content calendar to plan your content and strategy, your AI should know you well enough to pull from organic ideas you already have in the works, which builds an even stronger relationship with the brand and the collaboration.

Red Flags Brands Spot Instantly

  • A title and a shot-by-shot list that reads like a template
  • Em dashes everywhere and words like "real," "authentic," "elevate"
  • A concept that has nothing to do with your actual content style

What a Trained AI Sends Instead

  • A paragraph in your voice, explained like a human
  • A concept built from content you have actually made before
  • An idea pulled from your own content calendar and plans
